Set deep in the Altai Mountains of northern Xinjiang, Jikepulin International Ski Resort combines vast alpine terrain, dry powder snow and one of the most dramatic vertical drops in China.
Opened in 2022, the resort is still relatively young, but its scale is already impressive. From an elevation of around 2,850 metres, long runs descend more than 1,400 vertical metres, including a top-to-bottom descent stretching approximately 11 kilometres.
At the foot of the mountains lies Hemu, a remote alpine village surrounded by snow-covered forests and peaks. With new resort accommodation continuing to develop alongside the village’s traditional wooden stays, Jikepulin offers something increasingly rare in modern ski travel: big terrain, deep winter landscapes and a destination that still feels genuinely undiscovered.
